Hi there!

Since your curiosity led you to my “About Me” page, I assume you want to know more about me. So let me introduce myself:

I’m Jey, creator, publisher and writer of Thursday in August.

I’m an explorer by nature, a creative at heart, a student of life, and a seeker of knowledge and hidden truths. I was born in Suriname and grew up in the Netherlands. In between, I’ve traveled to 40 countries around the globe and lived shortly in Canada and the USA. If you haven’t guessed it already, I am a Sagittarius rising and an inquisitive, yet adventurous Life Path 5. I’ve always been curious about life, I love learning new things, meeting new people, and enjoy collecting new experiences through my travels. I’m also drawn to all things different, ancient, and foreign; from cultures, languages, poetry, and food (the Middle Eastern/Mediterranean cuisine in particular) to ancient philosophies, architecture, and places with a long rich history! Even though I have traveled a lot and seen many places around the globe, I have to be honest and say that the most significant transformations in my life came from my journeys within. I enjoy exploring the hidden aspects of life because I truly believe that there is more to life than meets the eye. This explains my tremendous passion for ancient sciences and higher spiritual knowledge like (Vedic) astrology (in relation to astronomy), and Western numerology, which I have developed more strongly in my adult years.

Going into the depths of exploring worldly, mysterious subjects helps me to stay connected with my inner self, including my emotions and overall psyche. It also helps me to understand other people’s behavior and mental processes from both a psychological and spiritual perspective. Moreover, it shows me how we are all connected, one way or another. Looking back at my life, I have actually always had a natural inclination towards the world of mysticism and esotericism. The planets and stars in the sky have always fascinated me, especially the philosophy of how their energies can influence our daily life experiences here on earth. I remember when I was a teenager, I would go directly to the horoscope pages of different magazines and newspapers to find out what the stars had in store for me. As I grew older (and became wiser) and learned more about this fascinating, mystic world, I soon found out that astrology is more than just horoscopes, and that 1+1 means more than just the equivalent of the number 2. Although astrology came to me at an early age, numerology, however, entered my life a bit later. I had just quit an unfulfilling, dead-end job and found myself at a crossroads, but I didn’t know exactly which way to go. That is when numerology found me. No, I didn’t choose numerology, instead; it has chosen me. It arrived at a time when my soul was finally ready to receive the knowledge and wisdom that was needed so I could transform my life for the better. To keep a long story short; numerology has really helped me to find a new direction in life, including a sense of purpose. {You can read the full story of how I got into numerology on my blog.}

I believe that we each have our own ways of seeking guidance and finding spiritual meaning to help us navigate through life. For me, it is through the planets, stars, and the energetic vibrations of numbers, but also through dream interpretation. These things enable me to self-reflect and make some sense of it all; who I am, why I’m here, what I came here to do, and how I can use my abilities to overcome challenges in life and reach my full potential. I also believe that we each have a purpose in life, and part of my soul’s purpose is Thursday in August. Through my platform Thursdayinaugust.com, I aspire to inspire, empower and support others on their soul’s journey here on earth, using the Divine language of numbers combined with some basic astrology. At the same time, I hope to influence change and transformation by sharing my passion for numerology with the world using my creativity, observations, personal experience, research, intuitive nature, and logic.

And last but not least; my platform is not to convince everyone. Instead, it exists to support anyone on a path of personal development, self-discovery, self-improvement, and spiritual growth. I also want to debunk some myths regarding the science and philosophy of numerology. It is not some hocus pocus magic trick like a lot of people may think. Just because it is ancient or not accepted by the masses doesn’t mean it’s “airy” or scary. It is, in fact, a cool, fun, and creative way to get to know yourself and others through numbers combined with spiritual understanding. Having said that, I truly hope that the information I share inspires anyone with an interest in numerology, as numerology continues to inspire me.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for visiting Thursday in August.
