Super Duper Easy DIY Coconut Sugar Scrub For Chapped & Cracked Lips

diy homemade coconut sugar lip scrub

Hi Lovelies,

I’m not sure about you guys, but this cold winter weather make my lips all dry, chapped and cracked! And in order for my lips to survive this harsh winter (aside from drinking lots water of course) is to exfoliate, exfoliate and exfoliate!! So in today’s post I’ll share with you my homemade lip scrub that anyone can make by just using 2 basic ingredients, which are sugar and oil.homemade diy coconut sugar lip scrubhomemade diy coconut sugar lip scrub

As you could tell from the title, my homemade lip scrub is coconut based. Hence, I’ve used the following(ingredients):

  • Coconut sugar – For the color and taste.
  • Coconut oil – Melted, but solid is okay as well.
  • Granulated(white )sugar – This is not necessary to add to the mixture, but compared to coconut sugar I find the texture of white sugar rougher and coarse, which scrubs off the dead skin more effectively.
  • Cosmetic containers (small) – To put the scrub mixture in.

So once the ingredients are in place, combine them all together (coconut sugar, white sugar and coconut oil) and place the mixture in a small cosmetic container. You could also make a large amount at once and store it in a jar, which will last longer obviously. Also, you don’t necessarily have to melt the coconut oil, but you can leave it in its solid state. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t; It all depends on my mood.  homemade diy coconut sugar lip scrub

By the way, this coconut sugar scrub can be used for your entire body, and not just for your lips alone.

And that’s pretty much it.  This is how I make my coconut sugar lip scrub. It’s super duper easy to make, edible and has a super sweet taste as well, but since it’s sugar I wouldn’t eat it too often if I were you. 😉

Have you made your own coconut  sugar (lip) scrub before? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below. xo, Jey.homemade diy coconut sugar lip scrub

  1. I’m not a great DIY-er but these images make me want to give this a good. They’re so colorful and pretty to look at. I love the idea of a natural lip scrub and the fact that I can make these myself at home makes it even better. Lovely blog by the way.

    1. Hi Chara, Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I’m not a major DIY-er myself, but it all depends on the products. I believe that there are certain things that we can ALL do ourselves with the basic ingredients we already have in our homes, instead of buying it in the shops. And something like a scrub is very easy to make, along with some pretty pics could help inspire others as well. So I’m happy I’ve inspired you 🙂

I will have a look at your website and email you accordingly (if the platform suits my interest)! thanks for stopping by xoxo, Jey.
