A Bag Of Fashionchick Goodies at Amsterdam FashionWeek

Hi Lovely Readers,

If you’ve read my About page or FAQ page, you will know by now that I love events, whether  I’m organizing it myself or assist others with their event. And recently I got the opportunity to work at Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam, which took place in the first two weeks of July(1-11July 2016 to be exact).

20160702_01494420160709_134214-001On the opening day of FashionWeek there was a Blogger Café( hosted by the popular online fashion platform Fashionchick) where established Dutch Fashion Bloggers shared their experience about their blogging journey and their road to success. And obviously a little fashion seminar like this had to end with some good old goodie bags! To be honest, during FashionWeek I didn’t have time to have a good look at the items that were in this bag, because I was in a “work work work work work” type of mood (Rihanna’s voice). Now that I’m fully recovered I can give you a lowdown on all these goodies.20160715_155019Even though I didn’t attend the seminar(because I had to work backstage), the ladies from Fashionchick had just enough bags left for the staff (well, not everyone, but I was lucky I was on time when the seminar finished!). I’ve had some fair share of goodie bags in the past, and I have to say that this is one of the better ones so far! This bag was stuffed with so many yummy goodies that I had to write a post about it and share it with you.

I’ve divided the items in 4 different categories, so let’s start!

Makeup and Skincare

MUA Makeup Academy Devotion Palette:  I’ve never tried any product from MUA before. Somehow I always walk pass by their section, but it seems like a good and very affordable makeup brand. I got the Eye  + Face Devotion Palette, which has 10 powder eye shadows and 10 metallic shades. According to MUA it’s a multi-use palette; So it’s not only for your eyes, but for your face as well which allows you to create different looks. I can always use some new eye shadow, plus I love the neutral shades of this palette!

MUA Sweet Sheen Lip Balm: Just like a new palette, I can always use a new lipbalm! The Sweet Sheen Lip Balm by MUA is a moisturizing lip balm with a shimmering finish. I haven’t tried it yet, but the color “Cherry Bomb” looks nice. Although it’s not a color that I would wear on a daily, but since it’s a balm rather than a stick I think it’ll do!

Essie Berried Treasures: Just like eye shadow and lipstick, I can always use new nail polish. Berried Treasures is one of the newest colors from Essie’s Summer 2016 collection. Since I’m a pink-type of girl, well actually I love all colors that pop, this ruby berry shade is everything! I haven’t tried it yet, but trust me I will soon.

Huid en meer… : This book “Huid en meer”(translation: Skin and more) is actually a Dutch book about skin, giving tips and tricks on all things we should know about our skin: Anything from food/healthy living to the use of skincare products.

And a little trend watch brochure about the latest makeup trends, tips and tricks…

Bath and Body

Treaclemoon Her Lavender Story Bath and Shower Gel : I can’t believe I had never tried products from Treaclemoon before! The lavender-scented bath and shower gel that I got is just yummy!! I’ve already showered with it and it seriously makes my skin feel so soft afterwards and this lavender scent is just heaven!  I will definitely try out their other scents and products as well.Good to know: Treaclemoon products are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly.

Treets Cosmetics  Relaxing Chakra’s Body Scrub: Treets Cosmetics is also another brand I had never tried before until now. And to be honest I had never even heard of them either. Nevertheless, I use a lot of different body scrubs and this brand has now become one of my favorites. I got the Chakra’s Exfoliating Body Scrub in Coconut Oil and Rose scent. Not only does this scrub smell delicious, and exfoliates my skin thoroughly, but it leaves my skin feeling super smooth! Good to know is that Treets Cosmetics scrubs are free of parabens, silicones, colorants and mineral oils.

Food and Drinks(Health)

Eat Natural Protein Packed Crunchy Nutbar : I love the crunchy nut bars from Eat Natural. I got the delicious protein packed peanut and chocolate flavour(which I’ve already finished btw!- I was hungry!).  It’s a great healthy snack full of natural ingredients. I also love their other flavours, but had not tried the protein one before. It was yummy!

Lief! Lifestyle Fruity Apple and Chamomile Lemonade: Lief! is a Dutch lifestyle brand, and their organic lemonade with apple and chamomile flavor is a great alternative for those who want to add some flavor in their water. The lemonade contains natural sugars. I’ve already tried it and it’s delicious, but I’ve noticed that one glass wasn’t enough and I wanted more and more of it! Even though it’s based of natural sugars, I still don’t think it’s good to drink it every single day, although it’s tasty!!

Vitamin Well Reload: This drink is one of the many different brands out there that sell water with added vitamins. The Vitamin Well Reload I had (already finished btw),was lemon flavored with Vitamins B+D, Magnesium and Zinc. The flavor was just okay and not that special to be honest. It tasted like most of those other vitamin waters.

Water Bottle Modemusthaves.com : I can always use a good water bottle, and this bright pink one that says “Pop Like Pink Champagne” was sponsored by online fashion store modemusthaves.com .

Jewelry/Accessory

Necklace by My Jewellery:  And last, but not the least of the goodies is this necklace, worth EUR19.95,- by online fashion accessories shop My Jewellery. It also came with 2 vouchers of 10% discount on the next purchase.

And those were the goodies that were stuffed inside this black cotton Fashionchick bag! Reason why I love this goodie bag is because all these items are not only useful, but they’re also of a pretty good quality. Plus I haven’t tried any of the products before and now I will buy some of the items in the future, which is the purpose of a good goodie bag! So I guess Fashionchick and those cooperating brands succeeded.

Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know in the comment section below! xo, Jey.

  1. Guuurl that was a great goody bag and I like how you sectioned the gifts/contents. Funny thing is I went to a blogger event by Styleranking in Berlin and got a rather hefty goodybag and I’ve still not opened it. My plan was to unbox it and make a video out of it…tsigh…anyhoo so cool you got to take part in MB fashion week.
I remember ages ago you wrote you wanted to do more in fashion and looks like you’re making your dreams come true ( :

    1. Well I’m taking baby steps thanks you…..but you know what Biki, I’ve come to a realization that the more I’m focusing on fashion, the more I also want to focus on non-profit event projects as well. Or combine both. We all know fashion is so superficial, but at the same time clothing is an expression of ourselves. So I’m trying to balance both worlds…spiritual and material. This goodie bag was indeed the bomb dot com. You should make a video of your goodiebag and post it on Facebook!! Oh right I forgot to send you my personal website of events….will write it on your blog. xo

      1. Hey hon, well first things first, having worked in fashion, I always defend it when people say its superficial. It totallyu depends on what part of fashion you work in. Fashion can be art. Fashion is a necessity, because when most of us wake up in the morning, we reach out to wear clothes, styling those clothes is another matter…fashion is a business for that necessity alone…anyhoo, will take a look at what you sent and for as long as you can, I’d say Yup! try and do fashion and your events ( :

  2. Ok, just had a look at your other site: looks like its coming along. Since the industry is so heavily saturated, more than ever, clients want to see names, names, names so in your portfolio section I would consider making the brand names/logos/pictures more obvious when one clicks on the page, something akin to this: http://www.helenjennings.co.uk/journalism.
But its a total personal preference, at the end of the day You Do You.

Best of luck getting more work and clients ( :

    1. Many thanks!!!! Yes it’s indeed saturated so that’s why I’m looking in other industries as well and broaden my horizon since I live in a tiny country with little to less opportunities. Xxxx
