We All Have Our Own Path In Life
I’ve always felt different. Different in the way I talk, the way I walk, the way I think and perceive the world around me. As I grow older and evolve, I become more aware of who I am and that’s a feeling I can’t ignore or deny. I never really followed the predetermined path created by Western society- well, up until I finished college, after that I went my own way. It’s not that I don’t want to conform to “the old-fashioned norm” a.k.a. the matrix (school, college/university, job, marriage, house, kids and then die), but it’s because I know there are other options to explore on the path called life. I believe that we each have our own path to walk in life and the choice to create and live our life the way we want to live it.
Obviously, as kids we are brainwashed taught to know the difference between right and wrong, red and blue, and that one plus one equals two. It’s even expected from us to have an answer to the question you’ve heard many times before: “What do you want to be become when you grow up?”
“Why can’t we just BE? Just be ourselves. What’s wrong with that?!”
Why can’t we just BE? Just be ourselves. What’s wrong with that?! Just because “society” created a picture perfect template of how life is supposed to be lived, doesn’t mean it fits with one’s path in life, personality, talents, dreams and desires. Clearly, I can’t deny the fact that I’ve been influenced by culture , tradition and different social groups, which to a certain point has shaped my way of thinking, but it has not changed my personality. My personality is something that can’t be shaped; It’s who I am, my identity, determined from the day I was born and evolves throughout my life path. By denying my personality, I deny who I am and doing so I only fool myself to pretend to be someone or something I’m not.
“I believe as a society we put too much pressure on each other, instead of allowing us to just be.”
Don’t Let Other People’s Opinion Of You Interfere With Your Soul
I believe as a society we put too much pressure on each other(think of social status, money, titles, position etc.) instead of allowing us to just be. Obviously there are a lot of people out there who are satisfied living life according to a “template” and have found comfort living that way! And that’s okay! Then there are others(like myself)who have chosen to live an “out-of-the-box- kind-of-life”. Whether you’ve chosen to live your life according to a template or not, at the end of the day, we all share the same desires: The search for happiness and finding our true life’s purpose. I think that if we would stop competing with one another, it would be much easier of getting to know one-self and ultimately finding our life’s purpose. So my message with this post is: Don’t ignore that voice inside you, but allow yourself to get to know the real you! Allow yourself to flourish by doing the things that you want, at your own pace. Life has taught me that the best way to become more of ourselves is not allowing other people’s opinion of us or how we’re supposed to live our lives interfere too much with our soul. Only so, we can evolve more into ourselves, and create a life of our own that’s in alignment with our personality, talents and true heart’s desires.
