5 Favorite, Healthy Fruit and Veggie Snacks


I love to snack in between meals, but then again, who doesn’t? The key is to nurture yourself with the right nutritious type of snacks. This blog post will cover 5 of my favorite, healthy fruit and veggie snacks including the benefits of eating these on a regular.


Some might hate it, but I’m in love with the coco! I never say no to anything made from this tropical fruit, but I love to eat it raw as a snack. One of the benefits of consuming coconut is that it boosts your digestive and immune system, it lowers your blood sugar level and increases your metabolism. The only negative thing about coconut is that it’s actually high in fat and calories. So I try not to eat it often, but occasionally and in moderation(like a handful).

Side note: Coconut is also one of those fruits that people avoid buying in the supermarket, because most people just don’t know how to crack open. I was one myself, until I’ve learned how to do so. It does take a lot practice and strength, but I use a hammer to crack open a coconut. If you prefer not to DIY, then you can always have the raw coconut meat ready made from the supermarket.


Cherry Tomatoes

When it comes to tomatoes there’s a big discussion whether it’s considered a fruit or a vegetable. To me, tomatoes are vegetables. What I love about these sweet round veggies is that they’re so quick and easy to eat.

I eat them away like candy, but the only difference is that cherry tomatoes are in fact healthy. One of the benefits of eating (cherry) tomatoes is the low risk of cancer, trombone and heart disease.



Who doesn’t love strawberries? I have yet to find someone who can’t stand these little beauties. Strawberries look so lovely on a plate and sometimes I think they’re just too beautiful to eat. Benefits of eating strawberries on a regular basis is that it lowers the risk of heart disease, cancer and arthritis. Strawberries also boost bone and eye health.



Green Apples (Granny Smith)

As the saying goes: One apple a day keeps the doctor away! I’m not sure if eating apples actually keeps the doctor away from anything, but what I do know is that they’re healthy. I love to eat them as a snack, especially the good old sour Granny Smith apples. In comparison to other apples, Granny Smith apples have the most anti-oxidants and promote a steady heart rhythm, weight loss, healthy teeth and regulate your blood sugar level. Eating Granny Smith apples also improves brain function and lowers the risk of Alzheimer disease.



For years there has been this misconception about carrots improving your eye sight. Well, luckily this myth has now been cleared up. Carrots do contain vitamin A, which keep your eyes healthy, but it doesn’t mean that your vision will become clearer(a blind person for example will not get a vision from eating a bag of carrots). Other proven benefits of eating carrots though, is that it lowers your blood sugar level and the risk of a heart disease. Eating carrots on a regular also promotes skin and hair health, and improves your immune system and metabolism, due to vitamins B and C.

      1. Yeah I know, it’s so oily, I know it has a lot of calories. I love to eat it with other chopped fruits, a mixed salad 🙂
