I’ve pretty much overstuffed myself with all kinds of GOOD and TASTY Christmas food. Now that Christmas days are over, an immediate recovery to get rid of all the “caloryfull” food is heavily needed. I’ve decided that the perfect way for me to do this (besides working out) is to start my day with a healthy, power breakfast! I do have to be honest that lately I’ve been slacking a bit when it comes to my breakfast routine: Either I’ve skipped it or if I haven’t, I would be eating bread(loads of it!) without switching it up with a healthier alternative. Hence, the revamp of my journey of healthy eating, starting with my breakfast meals(after all it’s the most important meal of the day). So I’ve kicked it off with a nutritious breakfast bowl filled with the following ingredients:
- 3 Tablespoons of nonfat French cottage cheese
- 3 Teaspoons of tropical dried fruit granola
- 1 Banana
- 1 Handful of Dutch strawberries
- 1 Handful of blueberries
I mixed half of the fruit in a bowl together with the cottage cheese and granola. The other half of fruit I ate as a side salad.
Aside from my breakfast bowl I had 1 glass of water with fresh lemon and 1 glass of green tea.
My breakfast was just delicious and nutritious! I’ve promised myself to keep this healthy breakfast alternative going and experiment with other ingredients as well. From time to time I will share some of my morning meals as I’m on this journey of creating a more balanced life.
