When you think of Ibiza you think of it as a “party island”, right? For many years now Ibiza is known as “the party island of world”(of which the partying part mainly happens in the high summer season). Since I’m not a party girl, but more an island/beach type of girl, I wanted to explore the other side of Ibiza. Just like there are two sides to every story, the island of Ibiza has two sides as well. So in the fall of 2015 (October to be exact) I booked myself a trip to the Balearic island of Spain for a much needed break filled with vitamin
C SEA and D(SUN!)
Obviously I did my research in advance on what period would be the best to visit if I wanted to avoid the partying crowd. So I went the second week of October, right after the closing parties. Not only would I recommend this, to whoever is looking for a nice, relaxing and quiet after-summer break, but the following five reasons all add to why I think Ibiza is a great off-season getaway.
- Low hotel/accommodation rates (even when you book 1 week in advance)
- Low ticket fares (when you book 2-3 months in advance)
- Uncrowded beaches
- The weather is great and the sea temperature is still pleasant to swim
- Short flight distance when traveling from Europe. (It took me 2 hours and 15 minutes from Amsterdam)
I had never been to Ibiza before, so this was my first time. I spent exactly one week on the island, of which 4 nights on the east coast (Playa d’en Bossa/Platja d’en Bossa) and 3 nights on the west coast(San Antonio/Sant Antoni). I loved every bit of it; Anything from the beach, nature to the relaxing/peaceful vibe and the weather! I would definitely go back again, but around April or May, just before the party-season kicks-off.
